The 2023 showcase comprised 36 artworks created by students from all SPED schools in Singapore. These artworks were selected by a panel comprising heads of art in two Special Education (SPED) schools supported by the Singtel Touching Lives Fund (STLF).
The students’ artworks were showcased on the various assets on the train network, in a collaboration with Singapore’s multi-modal public transport operator, the SMRT, these included 2 exclusive art-themed trains and other publicity platforms such as poster panels and digital screens at selected MRT stations across Singapore for about a month.
Guest of Honour, Ms Jane Ittogi, wife of the President of Singapore, together with Singtel Group Chief Executive Officer, Mr Yuen Kuan Moon, Singtel Group Chief People and Sustainability Officer and Singtel Touching Lives Fund (STLF) Chairperson, Ms Aileen Tan, as well as SMRT Chairman, Mr Seah Moon Ming and SMRT President Trains, Mr Lam Sheau Kai, launched the exclusive art-themed train at Ang Mo Kio MRT station. Ms Ittogi viewed the artworks and interacted with the student artists on board the train as it made its way to Somerset MRT station to view a week-long pop-up exhibition held at 313@Somerset, a shopping mall at Orchard Road.
