mio TV gives sports fans even more to cheer about

Four new channels will offer a wide range of sports to please fans of football, cricket, rugby, extreme sports and more

Singapore, 7 December, 2010 – Singapore Telecommunications Limited today announced that it has added four compelling new sports channels to its mio TV line-up, giving sports fans even more choice.

“With Barclays Premier League, UEFA Champions League and other marquee sporting action on the ESPN STAR Sports network, mio TV offers the most compelling sports programming and has attracted a significant base of Singapore sports fans,” said Mr Edward Ying, Chief, Multimedia. “mio TV continues to deliver the promise as the Home of Sports by further enhancing our sports offering with four new channels - All Sports Network (ASN), GOALTVT 1 and 2 and Ten Cricket.”

To thank sports fans for their support of mio TV, Ten Cricket will be available as a free preview till 15 December and the rest of the channels will be available for free to all mio TV subscribers until 2 January, 2011.

All Sports Network (ASN), GOALTVTM 1 and 2 and Ten Cricket are now available on mio TV.

ASN (Channel 129) features some of the most exciting live sporting action in High Definition (HD) from the US such as the National Football League (NFL), National Hockey League (NHL), NCAA college sports (basketball, baseball, tennis, swimming, track and field and more), Ultimate Fighting Championships (UFC), extreme sports as well as motor sports such as the Nascar Sprint Cup Series and Formula Drift.

Football fans will be pleased to know that GOALTV 1 and 2 (Channels 112 and 113) will be returning to local screens, now available only on mio TV. GOALTV is a dedicated football network offering Asian audiences unrivalled coverage of top European football. Its comprehensive coverage includes exclusive ‘live’ matches from the Carling Cup, Scottish Premier League, Dutch League and the English Championship as well as unprecedented behind-the-scenes access to major European clubs through club channel programming from Chelsea TV, Liverpool TV, Manchester City TV, in addition to Barcelona TV, Real Madrid TV and Bayern Munich TV. Content on the channels include exclusive interviews and magazine shows from the clubs.

Spanning two channels, GOALTV 1 and 2 will provide football fans with unique insight into their favourite teams with up-to-the-minute news, views and interviews, pre-and post- match expert analysis.

Ten Cricket (Channel 122) is one of Asia's leading international cricket channel featuring live coverage of all international cricket played in Sri Lanka, South Africa, Pakistan, West Indies and Zimbabwe together with exclusive archive and magazine programming showcasing many of the legends of the game. GoalTV, Ten Cricket and ASN are each available at $19.90 (including GST) but mio Stadium subscribers pay only $9.90 per month to add on each of the channels. STAR Cricket subscribers will be able to enjoy Ten Crickets at no additional cost and continue to pay $19.90 for both channels.
