Singtel aims to be leading regional ICT solutions provider in 5 years

Targets 50% Singapore Business revenue contribution from Next-Generation Managed ICT services

Singapore, 22 September 2008 – Singapore Telecommunications Limited (Singtel) today announced that it aims to be the leading Infocomm Technology (ICT) solutions provider among telcos in Asia Pacific in five years.
 
Mr Bill Chang, Executive Vice President of Business, said:  “With the convergence of communications and IT services, businesses are increasingly looking to partner an integrated provider who can deliver innovative, compelling and cost-effective ICT services. 
 
“Singtel started its transformation two years ago – from a provider of pure ‘carriage’ services into a leading one-stop regional provider of next-generation managed ICT solutions.” 
 
For example, Singtel’s Track & Trace solution is transforming the logistics and supply chain companies in the region.  This is a fully managed web-based solution that provides real-time location and status monitoring of assets and vehicles using state-of-the-art mobile and satellite technologies.  
 
Singtel also collaborates with leading education specialists to implement the FutureSchools@Singapore project at Canberra Primary School.   Through the innovative use of ICT, it seeks to create an engaging, interactive learning and teaching environment that stimulates creativity and supports the Ministry of Education’s ‘Teach Less, Learn More’ vision.
 
“We aim to be the leading ICT solutions provider among telcos in Asia Pacific.  We expect our current ICT revenues to more than double and contribute 50 per cent of Singtel’s Business revenues in five years,” said Mr Chang.

To further accelerate ICT innovations, Singtel, together with its partners, unveils its largest inaugural business innovation forum – i.Luminate 2008.  This event will feature 50 global distinguished speakers who are thought-leaders in innovation across industries and showcase over 100 intelligent ICT solutions that will help transform businesses for success.

Singtel’s suite of cutting-edge Unified Communications (UC) solution that boosts business productivity and enhances collaboration within a company and beyond into its supply chain of partners.
