Singapore, 19 November 2009 -- Singapore Telecommunications Limited (Singtel) today announced that Singtel AMPed, an unsurpassed social music experience for postpaid mobile customers, has won the coveted award “Best Mobile Music Service” at the GSMA’s Asia Mobile Awards 2009 yesterday evening in Hong Kong.
The Best Mobile Music Service award is given to the very best in music services across Asia and the mobile value chain. The entries were judged based on criteria such as innovativeness, simplicity, ease of use and compelling user experience.
AMPed beat other mobile music services offered bytelcos and mobile music service providers. The awards were judged by a panel of independent analysts, journalists and industry experts. The winners were announced in conjunction with the GSMA Mobile Asia Congress in Hong Kong, 18-19 November 2009.
Singtel AMPed was launched in partnership with Universal Music Group (UMG) in June 2009 and is the first-of-its-kindmobile music service in Asia that goes beyond offering free unlimited music downloads and daily music news. AMPed customers can access the service on the widest range of 3G handsets and PCs at no additional cost, synchronise playlists and songs automatically between handset and PC in real-time, own and share 15 songs every month, and get priority invitations to meet and greet their favourite stars inexclusive showcases. AMPed is also fully interactive and integrated into social networking sites and customers can share and chat about their music experience and upload reviews.

For the first time, this year's winners in the Asia Mobile Awards will be automatically shortlisted for GSMA’s Global Mobile Awards 2010, which will take place next year at the GSMA Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
