Singtel Media appointed sole media sales distributor for 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™
Offers advertisers airtime across Singtel, StarHub and Mediacorp platforms
Singapore, 27 April 2018 – Singtel Media today announced its appointment as the sole media sales distributor of advertising airtime in Singapore for the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™.
In its role, Singtel Media will be the single touch point for advertisers, offering customised advertising solutions across Singtel, StarHub and Mediacorp platforms.
This is the first time that the three broadcasters are working together to bring World Cup to Singapore, giving marketers a unique opportunity to effectively showcase their brands and products to millions of viewers. Most group stage matches will be kicking off at primetime hours, allowing advertisers to reach as broad an audience as possible.
Mr Goh Seow Eng, Managing Director of Home, Consumer Singapore, at Singtel, said, “Singtel Media has already received strong interest from advertisers across the banking, insurance, F&B and consumer electronics sectors as well as mobile phone makers, reflecting the broad appeal that the World Cup has. We encourage advertisers to book their airtimes early to get maximum exposure across the Singtel TV, StarHub and Mediacorp platforms. We offer them elevated reach, flexibility and targeted solutions around the World Cup.”
All 64 World Cup matches will be broadcast on all subscription-based platforms including Singtel TV, Singtel TV GO, StarHub TV, StarHub Go and Toggle, while nine selected matches will be available on free-to-air channel Okto.
Ms Callie Ng, Head of General Business, StarHub said, “FIFA World Cup™ is the biggest sports event of the year and all eyes will surely be on it in June. The sheer scale of this marquee event, along with the combined reach of all three media platforms, makes this a unique proposition for media agencies and advertisers to get their messaging across to their audiences effectively.”
All three broadcasters are offering the 2018 World Cup to viewers at the à la carte price of S$94.16 until 22 May and S$112.35 thereafter, unchanged from the rates four years ago. The pricing was lauded by Singaporean football fans, who were bracing for a price hike.
Mr Parminder Singh, Chief Commercial Officer, Mediacorp, said, “The exclusive advertising partnership for 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™ across all major broadcast mediums in Singapore creates a unique opportunity for advertisers to optimise reach at the most cost effective rates. This is also an unprecedented occasion for brands to rally the nation behind a shared passion.”
