Exciting channel for kids and the family adds to mio TV’s comprehensive stable of content for children of all ages

Singapore, 17 March  2008 -- Singtel today announced that it will be launching KidsCo, a brand new channel that kids and the whole family can enjoy.

Featuring high quality animated and live action programming from the world’s greatest content providers, there will be three different “programme zones” within the schedule - Pre-School, Kids (aged 6 to10) and Family.

For the pre-schoolers, there is plenty of entertainment in store with programmes like  Rolie Polie Olie - a 3D series about the hilarious childhood of a young robot that pays tribute to the cartoon shorts of the early 1930s - and ageless classics like  Babar, the young elephant who undergoes many challenges but always finds the strength to rise above difficulty and search out every cloud’s silver lining.

Older kids will be thrilled by shows like  Angela Anaconda, a highly original and wildly irreverent animated children’s series that follows the adventures of Angela and her posse of equally wacky pals, and  Dance Revolution, where tweens and teens bring their freshest moves to the table, incorporating innovative moves into their existing choreography to wow the judges.

“We are very pleased to be bringing KidsCo to mio TV,” said Mr Low Ka Hoe, Director of mio TV and Content.   “The programming on this channel entertains and inspires young audiences in a safe and responsible environment while helping them learn, and creates plenty of great opportunities for parents to bond with their kids.”

“Programming for young children is an important part of mio TV’s product offering,” continued Mr Low.  “Providing content that is fun and entertaining, yet educational and wholesome is a top priority for us.  KidsCo is one of the leading international names in children’s entertainment, a brand that is trusted for its safe content and high quality of programming standards.  As such, we are very pleased to be the first pay TV platform to introduce the channel to young Singaporeaudiences and their families.”

“With the addition of KidsCo, mio TV now has programming for children of all ages, Mr Low added.  “We have channels such as Luli and CBeebies as well as those like Yoyo TV and Jetix which in totality cater to children from newborns all the way to those in their teens.” added Mr Low.

Paul Robinson, the Managing Director of KidsCo Worldwide said, “Our goal is to product the best possible mix of quality entertainment that will be loved by kids, and appreciated by parents and carers.  KidsCo’s three programming zones of preschool, kids 6 -10 and family will feature great animated and live action content plus movies with special seasonal programming and character stunts to ensure that there is always something fresh and exciting on the channel.”

KidsCo will also be launching a fun-filled website for Asia ( www.kidscotv.tv) packed with games, downloads, character information and more.

Existing mio TV customers get to enjoy a free episode of selected KidsCo content such as  Jane and the DragonDance Revolution and T he New Adventures of Madeline.

KidsCo is available on mio TV Channel 29 on a monthly basis at $6.42 per month or on a twelve month basis at $5.35 per month.  All prices are inclusive of GST.
