Singtel mio TV welcomes Disney Channels

Singapore, 14 May, 2013 – Singtel will launch The Walt Disney Company Southeast Asia’s suite of kids’ entertainment channels including Disney Channel, Disney Junior and Disney XD on mio TV’s Family+ Pack from 1 June, 2013. The channels will be available in dual languages (English and Mandarin). mio TV customers who do not subscribe to the Family+ pack will enjoy complimentary access to the three Disney channels for a one month period.

With distinct channel propositions and content offerings, Disney Channel, Disney Junior and Disney XD successfully cater to the entertainment needs of Singaporean kids and their families. The Disney Channels will also be available on catch-up via mio TV’s on-demand service.

Disney Channels offer an unparalleled blend of quality Disney entertainment and distinctive, original productions that kids love and families trust and enjoy. The channels will showcase some of the greatest animated and live action series reflective of Disney's hallmark storytelling heritage embodying fun, optimism and decency. Families can enjoy blockbuster animated movies and series, as well as specials, sitcoms, family game shows, live action adventure stories and movies. These include Disney's award winning shows such as Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Doc McStuffins on Disney Junior, Phineas and Ferb, and Jessie on Disney Channel and Marvel superheroes like Spiderman and Iron Man on Disney XD.

Disney Channel (Channel 234) offers an unmatched blend of creative and quality Disney entertainment that connects with both kids and parents. Targeting kids aged six to 14 with top animated programs such as Phineas and Ferb and popular live-action series like Shake it Up, Jessie and Good Luck Charlie.

Disney Junior (Channel 236) is a learning-focused channel that reflects the emotional connection generations of consumers have to Disney storytelling and Disney characters, both classic and contemporary. Specially designed for kids aged two to seven and their families, Disney Junior features storytelling and characters in a way that only Disney can deliver. It is a brand that has a rich heritage that connects with pre-schoolers in a heartfelt way, with collection of the best titles including Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Jake and the Never Land Pirates and Doc McStuffins.

Disney XD (Channel 232), the latest channel launched by Disney in Singapore, is a boy focused and girl inclusive channel. The channel showcases live-action and animated programming for kids age 6-14, hyper-targeting boys and their quest for discovery, accomplishment, sports, adventure and humor. Disney XD is also the TV home of new Marvel series featuring superheroes, such as Spider-Man, Iron Man, Hulk, The Avengers and introduce dynamic stories full of action, adventure and heroism to a whole new generation of fans. The channel will also feature original Disney XD series including the martial arts comedy Kickin' It, and action-packed, animated comedy series Randy Cunnigham: 9th Grade Ninja.
