Singapore, 15 May 2025 – Singtel today unveiled 5G+, a next-generation evolution of its 5G network, setting a new global benchmark in mobile connectivity. This advanced 5G service, enabled by the nationwide deployment of network slicing for all customers, delivers faster speeds, seamless connectivity and robust security, even while roaming.
Network slicing, a sophisticated 5G technology which enables unparalleled agility, flexibility and scalability of network resources, provides customers with a “slice” of the network that can dynamically adapt to their specific needs in real time for superior mobile experiences. Previously, this technology was largely used by businesses to overcome congestion and achieve high speeds for critical applications. Singtel is now democratising network slicing, bringing the full range of benefits of this unique technology to everyday users.

In 2022, Singtel achieved nationwide 5G coverage three years ahead of regulatory requirements, making Singapore the first country in the world to achieve full standalone 5G coverage. Since then, Singtel has further boosted its 5G network by being the first and only telco in Singapore to deploy the 700MHz spectrum in February this year. This provides up to 40% better coverage in high-rise buildings, indoor and underground spaces, as well as in remote areas across Singapore, improving network reliability and quality for consumers, at no additional cost to some 1.5 million Singtel 5G customers.

Elevating the 5G experience
Existing 5G users have all been upgraded to Singtel 5G+ with 700Mhz and can opt to further enhance their plans according to their desired connectivity performance and customer experience needs.
As of the first week of May 2025, existing Singtel customers on SIM-only Plus and Ultra, L plans and above were upgraded for free to Singtel 5G+ Priority. With greater bandwidth, ultra-low latency and up to four times faster speeds, they can enjoy better digital experiences like smoother streaming, ultra-responsive gaming and uninterrupted video calls. Users will also benefit from guaranteed network access, ensuring seamless connectivity even in high-traffic areas and during peak hours.
Beyond speed, 5G+ also brings enhanced security to everyday users, extending real-time threat protection to all customers, including those roaming overseas. With 24/7 advanced detection and blocking against cyber threats and malicious content, users can stay protected wherever they go.
Priority care and benefits
Complementing these features, Singtel 5G+ Priority customers will have access to a premium customer experience, including priority service at Singtel Shops, hotlines and chat support for faster and more efficient assistance. Additionally, they will receive exclusive benefits such as priority access to new handset launches, loyalty rewards, special discounts on devices and other special offers - enhancing the overall experience of being a Singtel 5G+ customer.
