Soh Chee Hui | 苏志辉 (b. 1967, Johor, Malaysia) works primarily in acrylic on canvas or rice paper. His works often reflect his Chinese heritage.
Soh graduated from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in 1990 and the University of Central England, Birmingham with Master of Fine Arts in 1996. He has won awards for his work, which include the 11th UOB Painting of the Year (1992), the Silver Prize (Drawing Section) in the 7th International Biennial Print and Drawing Exhibition in Taipei, Taiwan (1995) and Jurors’ Choice in the Philip Morris ASEAN Art Awards, (2001).
Soh has exhibited in Southeast Asia, Hong Kong, Taiwan and the United States of America. Group exhibitions include the 10th International Biennial Print and Drawing Exhibition at the Taipei Fine Art Museum (2001), Continuities: Contemporary Art of Malaysia at the Turn of the 21st Century at the Guangdong Museum of Art (2004, Guangzhou, China) and The Best of UOB - 26 winning works from the UOB Painting of the Year Competition from 1982 to 2007 at the Singapore Art Museum (2007). He participated at the Ludvig International Symposium 18, Kendlimajor Art Centre, Nagykanizsa, Hungary (2010).
Soh’s works have been collected by Singtel, the National Art Gallery, Malaysia, Singapore Art Museum, and the Singapore Economic Development Board.
