In the last few years, retail stores in Singapore have been struggling to keep afloat as a result of rising costs and decline in sales, especially with the shift in consumer retail behaviour towards ecommerce.
This digital disruption does not signal the end of brick and mortar stores, but rather, a move towards a “bricks and clicks” retail model, where retailers must find a balance between online and offline channels. In order to survive, retailers have to reinvent the way they do business by adopting appropriate strategies, technologies and tools.
Developers from start-ups, Small & Medium Businesses (SMBs) and students (at least 18 years old) who can code and develop IoT solutions.
Participants should have the necessary development skills to develop an IoT solution during the 2-day hackathon.
