What is Singtel WiFi?
Singtel WiFi is a new WiFi service that aims to provide our customers with a better mobile internet experience when surfing the net or downloading files at popular locations. This is available as a promotional unlimited complimentary usage until 31 March 2017. You enjoy typical download speeds of 4 to 10 Mbps, up to a speed of 70Mbps, when connected to Singtel WiFi. This service is available only for Singtel Combo, Easy Mobile and SIM Only customers.
Do I need to enter any login credentials to use Singtel WiFi?
There is no username and password required to connect to the WiFi hotspot. When your supported handset is within the coverage area with the WiFi setting enabled, it will be connected automatically.
Will I be able to change to Combo plan if I am still within contract?
Yes. However, if you are downgrading your existing plan, you may incur downgrade charges.
If I exceed my bundled data, can I use the unlimited WIFI data to offset my excess charges?
No, only Singtel WiFi usage is unlimited. If you use data on 3G/4G and exceed your local data bundle, excess charges of $10.70/GB will apply.
I have a MobileShare line. Can I use Singtel WiFi on this line?
MobileShare supplementary lines will be able to enjoy Singtel WiFi so long as the main line is on a Singtel Combo mobile plan. The total Singtel WiFi bundle will be shared between the main line and all MobileShare supplementary lines tied to the main line.
I am using Multi SIM. Am I able to use Singtel WiFi on my non main line?
As Multi SIM customers are using the same mobile number, you will be able to use Singtel WiFi on all your multi SIMs as long as you are on a Combo plan.
Will I be charged if I use data under Singtel WiFi?
Unlimited complimentary Singtel WiFi usage is available till 31 March 2017. From 1 April 2017, Singtel Combo, Easy Mobile and SIM Only Postpaid customers will enjoy a bundled 2GB WiFi usage on Singtel WiFi. Any usage beyond 2GB on Singtel WiFi will be deducted from your main data bundle.
What is the order of deduction for data usage on 3G/4G & Singtel WiFi?
From now till 31 March 2017, usage on Singtel WiFi is free.
From 1 April 2017, Singtel Combo, Easy Mobile and SIM Only price plans subscribers will enjoy free 2GB bundle on Singtel WiFi. Any excess usage on Singtel WiFi beyond the 2GB bundle will be deducted from your local data bundle. Prevailing local data excess charges will apply if you use more than your local data bundle of your price plan.
Usage on local data (3G/4G) is not deductible from the free 2GB Singtel WiFi bundle.
I have never used Singtel WiFi and I have exceeded my local data bundle. Can the excess local data be deducted from my Singtel WiFi bundle?
No. The free Singtel WiFi bundle is meant for exclusive usage on Singtel WiFi. The Singtel WiFi bundle is not an addition to your local data bundle.
Can I use Singtel WiFi if I do not wish to recontract to Combo plans?
No. You will have to either sign-up or recontract under our Combo, Easy Mobile or SIM Only plan to enjoy Singtel WiFi.
I have no need for a data plan so why should I take up the Combo, Easy Mobile or SIM Only plan?
Majority of handsets today are smartphones and these devices use mobile data for communication, e.g. web surfing, location-based apps, maps, communication apps. Singtel Combo, Easy Mobile and SIM Only plans offer you the best value whether you are a light data user or a heavy data user.
How do I switch from a free WiFi zone to Singtel WiFi?
Simply go to WiFi settings on your device and manually select ‘Singtel WiFi network’.

Why/How am I being automatically connected onto Singtel WiFi network?
If you are on Singtel Combo, Easy Mobile or SIM Only price plan and are in the vicinity of a hotspot, the Singtel WiFi network will identify you based on your SIM card and log you on Singtel WiFi automatically and seamlessly.
How can I check my usage on Singtel WiFi?
At the moment, there is no tracking facility for Singtel WiFi. You will be able to track your WiFi usage on the My Singtel app nearer the date where the promotional unlimited WiFi usage is ending.
I’m experiencing slowness in my connection. What can I do?
You can switch back to your mobile connection by switching the WiFi setting to ‘off’.
How do I connect manually on a Windows handset?
Currently, Windows OS handsets are not able to connect manually.
If the WiFi setting on my device is off, will it automatically connect to Singtel WiFi?
No, you need to enable your WiFi on your smartphone in order to connect.
If my device is currently connected to 3G or 4G and my WiFi is on, will it be switched to Singtel WiFi when I am in the coverage area?
Yes, your device will automatically connect to Singtel WiFi.
If I choose not to be automatically connected to Singtel WiFi and use 3G or 4G or other WiFi networks, how can I avoid the switching?
You may disable WiFi on your handset or manually select the WiFi network to connect to.
If I am out of the Singtel WiFi coverage area, will my handset be switched automatically to 3G or 4G?
Yes, your handset will be switched back to 3G or 4G as long as mobile data is enabled.
If I set my WIFI to off, will I receive any alerts to inform me that I am in the WiFi zone?
No, there are no alerts currently. You can view the list of WiFi hotspots on MySingtel app.
I am using Singtel WiFi and have disabled mobile data on my device. Will I be charged if I use more than 2GB on Singtel WiFi?
If you have used more than 2GB on Singtel WiFi, your usage will be deducted from your local data bundle even if you have disabled mobile data on your device. Prevailing excess local data charges apply if you use more than your local data bundle.
There is currently promotional unlimited usage of Singtel WiFi till 31 March 2017.
I have disabled mobile data on my smartphone and am using Singtel WiFi for surfing. Can I still use my personal hotspot to allow tethering?
It is not possible to tether while connected only to Singtel WiFi and mobile data is off.
I am currently using a Singtel NFC Postpaid SIM card, will I be able to connect automatically?
Yes, your NFC SIM card on an EAPSIM supported handset will be able to connect automatically, as long as you are on Singtel Combo, Easy Mobile or SIM Only Postpaid price plan.
Can I not use Singtel WiFi?
Yes. Simply switch off your WiFi on your smartphone or manually select another WiFi network to connect to.
I am within the coverage area where both Wireless@SGx and Singtel WiFi are available, and I have never connected previously to either network. Which network will my handset automatically connect to?
Your handset will automatically connect to Singtel WiFi.
My handset was previously connected to Wireless@SGx and I am within the coverage area where both Wireless@SGx and WiFi are available, which network will my handset automatically connect to?
The WiFi network that your handset was last connected to will be the same network that your handset will automatically connect to again. In this scenario, your handset will automatically connect to Wireless@SGx . You may opt to manually select Singtel WiFi for a better surfing experience.
