Troubleshoot by Optical Network Terminal (ONT)

The colours of each LED light on your ALU ONT have different meanings. Use this guide to understand more.

 

POWER LED

No light: No power is supplied to the ONT.
Check the power supply and ensure that the power adapter is secured.
Green: Connected to a power supply

 

Optical/PON

No light: PON Optical Port is not synchronised.
Check that the Fibre connection is established.
Red: Optical Module Power or Signal Loss.
Please call 1688 for assistance.
Green: PON Optical Port is synchronised.

 

LAN

No light: No ethernet connection.
Green (Stable): Connected to an ethernet device.
Green (Blinking): Data is transmitting or receiving between devices

 

Update

No light: Normal state
Red: Upgrade has failed
Green: Upgrading

 

ALM

No light: Normal state
Red: Hardware exceptions
Green: Local access

 

POTS

No light: On hook.
Turn off your ONT and turn it on again after 5 min. If the light still does not turn on after 2 min, call 1688 for further assistance.
Green (Stable): Off hook, Home Digital Line is currently in use.
Green (Blinking): Off hook for more than 1 hour.

The colours of each LED light on your Ericsson ONT have different meanings. Use this guide to understand more.

 

POWER LED

No light: No power is supplied to the ONT.
Check the power supply and ensure that the power adapter is secured.
Green: Connected to a power supply

 

PON

No light: No signal detected. If it takes more than 1 min to stabilise, call 1688 for assistance.
Green (Stable): Fibre connection is established.
Green (Blinking): Fibre is connecting.
If it takes more than 1 min to stabilise, call 1688 for assistance.

 

LAN

No light: No LAN connectivity detected.
Check that the ethernet cable is connected to your router and ONT. Both devices need to be powered on.
Green: LAN connectivity detected.

 

Phone (1 & 2)

No light: Home Digital Line profile is not set up. If you have a Home Digital Line service connected to the ONT but there is no light on Phone2 port, turn off the ONT and turn it on again after 5 minutes. Call 1688 if the issue persists.
Green (Stable): How Digital Line is connected.
Green (Blinking): Handset is off hook or in use.
