Apply for your Student's Pass
Your academic journey in Singapore can only begin with a valid Student's Pass. Here's a tip: Start early! Apply for your Student's Pass as soon as you have received the application details from your approved educational institution.
Prep for immigration clearance
Your Student's Pass will only be issued when you are in Singapore, and when all requirements stated in the IPA letter are met. To enter Singapore, you will require your IPA letter (including visa if applicable). A visit pass will be issued to you at the checkpoint upon arrival. Here's a tip: Book an appointment with ICA, or follow-up with your institution as soon as you arrive, to proceed with the completion of formalities for your Student's Pass to be issued!
Open a local bank account
From transferring funds to making payments in Singapore, it's certainly more convenient with a local bank account. Typically, you would need to present a valid passport, your Student's Pass and a proof of residence when opening a bank account. Here's a tip: Banks have a variety of services, offerings and fees. Do your research before you settle on one!

Bring these documents with you to Singapore
Have these documents ready because you never know when you'll need them: Student's Pass IPA letter, eForm 16, passport with at least six months validity, Letter of Offer from your host institution, personal identification documents and medical report if applicable.
