Switching to GOMO? Here’s how to enjoy a smooth port-in experience.

GOMO roaming guide

Thinking of switching to GOMO? Smart choice!

Porting your existing mobile number is straightforward and simple. A few quick checks before you sign up can help ensure everything goes smoothly.

In this guide, you'll learn how to:

Before you port in: A quick checklist

Before you port in to GOMO, make sure you have got these covered.

Your existing mobile line is still active

Your current SIM must remain active until your number has been successfully transferred. Don’t cancel your existing plan yourself. Your previous telco provider will automatically terminate the line once the port-in is completed.

Your account details match exactly

All details such as your full name and NRIC/FIN should match the details registered with your current telco provider.

You are the registered owner

Only the registered owner of the mobile number can request a port in. If the number belongs to someone else, such as a family member or your company, you will need to complete the ownership transfer first before switching.

Once you have ticked these off, you are ready to port in!

How to port your number to GOMO?

The port-in process is simple. Here’s how to get started.

Step 1: Choose your preferred GOMO mobile plan

Pick the plan that best fits how you use your mobile data—whether that's for everyday browsing, streaming, travelling or working on the go.

GOMO offers no-contract  SIM Only plans on Singapore's most reliable network, giving you the flexibility to manage everything online.

Step 2: Select "Keep my existing number"

During checkout, select the option to transfer your existing number.

You will be asked to provide details of your current mobile line.

Step 3: Complete eKYC verification

As part of your sign-up, you will need to complete eKYC (electronic Know Your Customer) verification.

This secure digital identity check confirms that you are the person signing up for the plan before your port-in request can be processed.

Most verifications are completed quickly, but delays can happen if the information you submit isn't clear or doesn't match official records. We will cover the most common reasons below.

Step 4: Complete your order and set up your SIM

Once you have submitted your order, you will receive an order confirmation.

Using an eSIM? Look out for an email with instructions to install your eSIM. You will receive a temporary number so you can start using your GOMO plan while your port-in is being processed.

Using a physical SIM card? Your port-in will begin after your SIM card has been delivered and successfully set up. Look out for an email with instructions to complete the setup.

Step 5: Wait for your port-in to be completed

Once everything is set up, GOMO will keep you updated on your port-in status via SMS. You will also receive an email once your port-in is complete.

For eSIM, your port-in should take 1–3 working days after submitting your order. For a physical SIM card, your port-in should take 1–3 working days after your SIM card is delivered and set up.

Having trouble with your port-in?

If your port-in is unsuccessful, look out for an email from GOMO with the next steps. You may need to contact your current mobile provider to update your details or resolve any outstanding issues first.

Common questions about switching to GOMO

Will I lose my mobile number?

No. You will keep your existing mobile number. While your port-in is in progress, use your temporary GOMO number to stay connected. Once the transfer is complete, your existing number will automatically replace the temporary number.

Can I continue to use my current mobile line while waiting for the port-in to be completed?

Yes. Continue using your current SIM until your number has been successfully transferred.

Why is my eKYC taking longer?

Most eKYC (electronic Know Your Customer) are completed quickly, but there are a few common reasons why yours may take longer.

1. Blurry or cropped NRIC photos

Make sure your identification document is:

Clear and well-lit

Fully visible

Not covered by fingers or reflections

Avoid taking photos in dim lighting.

2. Your selfie doesn't match your ID

The system compares your selfie with your identification document.

For the best results:

Remove sunglasses and masks

Face the camera directly

Take the selfie in a well-lit area

3. Your personal details don't match

Check that the information entered during sign-up matches exactly with:

Your identification document

Your existing telco records

This includes spelling, spacing and identification numbers.

4. Your identification document has expired

Before submitting your application, make sure your identification document is still valid.

Tips for a faster eKYC verification

Want to help your verification go through faster?

Here are a few easy tips:

Use a stable internet connection.

Complete the process in a well-lit area.

Clean your phone camera lens before taking photos.

Double-check every detail before submitting.

Avoid refreshing or exiting the verification halfway through.

Spending a few extra seconds checking everything now can save you much more time later.

What happens if my port-in fails?

If your request is unsuccessful, you will usually be notified of the reason.

Common issues include:

Mismatched account information

Your existing mobile line is no longer active

Is switching to GOMO simple?

Yes. As long as your account details are accurate and your eKYC verification is completed successfully, switching to GOMO is designed to be a simple digital process.
