Optical Network Router and WiFi Router.

Step 1

Remove the green cap from port 1 or unplug the existing fibre cable from the Fibre Termination Point (FTP). You should also remove or unplug your existing broadband devices, cables and accessories from the data point and/or power socket.

 

 

 

Step 2

Remove the green cap on both ends of the fibre cable provided in the Optical Network Router (ONR) box. Insert it into port 1 on the FTP.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Step 3

Flip the ONR over. Remove the black cap from the fibre port. Insert the fibre cable into the fibre port. You should hear a click sound when it is properly inserted.

 

 

 

 

 

Step 4

Plug the power adaptor in to the ONR and a power socket. Switch on the power socket. Wait up to 3 mins and check that the POWER, PON and INTERNET lights are solid green.

 

 

 

 

Step 5

Plug the power adaptor in to the WiFi Router and power socket. Switch on the power socket.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Step 6

Take the LAN cable from the ONR box and connect one end to the other end to either Lan port of the WiFi Router.

 

 

 

 

Step 7

Wait 5 seconds and check that the LAN1 light on the ONR is green. Wait another 4 minutes while your new broadband devices are being configured. Check for solid green lights on POWER, PON, LAN1 and INTERNET.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Step 8

To connect to your WiFi network, locate the default WiFi name and password on the underside / back of the WiFi Router. Connect to the default WiFi name and enter the password when prompted and you are set!

Step 7

Take the LAN cable from the WiFi Router box. Connect one end of the LAN cable to the other end to either Lan port of the WiFi Router. 

 

 

 

Step 8

Wait 5 secs and check that the LAN1 light on the ONR is green. Wait another 4 mins while your new broadband devices are being configured. Check for solid green lights on POWER, PON, LAN1 and INTERNET.

 

 

 

 

Step 9

To connect to your WiFi network, locate the default WiFi name and passwod on the underside / back of the WiFi Router. Connect to the default WiFi name and enter the password when prompted and you are set!

Package B

Optical Network Router and WiFi Mesh / Wireless Booster.

 

Step 1

Step 6

Next we'll move on to set up your WiFi Mesh / Wireless Boosters. Plug the power adaptor in to one of the WiFi Mesh / Wireless Boosters and switch it on via the ON / OFF button at the back, if available. Wait 5 secs and check that the POWER light is on.

 

 

 

Step 7

Place the second WiFi Mesh / Wireless Booster 6-10 metres away from the first WiFi Mesh / Wireless Booster. Then, plug in the second WiFi Mesh / Wireless Booster to a power socket and turn it on via the ON / OFF button on the back, in available. Wait 5 secs and check that the POWER light is on.

 

 

Step 8

Wait 4 minutes while your new broadband devices are being configured. Then, check that POWER, PON, LAN1 and INTERNET lights on the ONR are solid green.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Step 9

Check that the 5GHz and 2.4GHz lights on the WiFi Mesh / Wireless Boosters are solid green as well.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Step 10

To connect to your WiFi Mesh / Wireless Booster's WiFi network, locate the default WiFi name and password on the underside of the WiFi Mesh / Wireless Booster. Connect to the default WiFi name and enter the password when prompted and you are set!

Take the LAN cable from the WiFi Mesh / Wireless Booster box and connect one end to the corresponding data point in your home. Connect the other end to the LAN port of the WiFi Mesh / Wireless Booster. Check the light from the LAN port is flashing.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Step 8

Place the second WiFi Mesh / Wireless Booster 6-10 metres away from the first WiFi Mesh / Wireless Booster. Then, plug in the second WiFi Mesh / Wireless Booster to a power socket and turn it on via the ON/OFF button on the back, if available. Wait 5 secs and check that the POWER light is on.

 

 

 

 

Step 9

Wait for 4 minutes while your new broadband devices are being configured. Then, check that POWER, PON, LAN1 and INTERNET lights on the ONR are solid green. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Step 10

Check that the 5GHz and 2.4GHz lights on the WiFi Mesh / Wireless Boosters are solid green as well.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Step 11

To connect your WiFi Mesh / Wireless Booster's WiFi network, locate the default WiFi name and password on the underside of the WiFi Mesh / Wireless Boosters. Connect to the default WiFi name and enter the password when prompted and you are set!

What is Distribution Box / Utility Cabinet?
This is usually a metal case to house the FTP and data / telephone points to the rest of the home.
What is FTP? What should I do if it is damaged?
FTP refers to Fibre Termination Point. If your FTP is visibly damaged, please contact us at 1688. Singtel will arrange with NLT to repair or replace the FTP. The cost of repair or replacement is $150 for HDB/Condo/Apartment and $270 for landed property. The quoted cost is exclusive of prevailing GST.
What are the devices I need to remove?
If you were previously with another Internet Service Provider (e.g. M1 / Starhub), you will need to remove the devices (e.g. ONT, WiFi Router, WiFi Mesh) issued by them.
What do I do if the POWER light on the ONR is not ON?
1. Check that the power adaptor is plugged in correctly.2. Ensure that the power socket is switched on.
What do I do if the PON light on the ONR is blinking red / blinking twice per second / not ON?
1. Check that the fibre cable is plugged in correctly.2. Switch the fibre cable from Port 1 to Port 2 on the FTP.
What do I do if the LAN1 light on the ONR is not ON?
1. Ensure that the power socket is switched on.2. Check that the LAN cable is plugged in correctly.3. Try another LAN port on the ONR.4. Try other data points in your home if the light does not turn green.
Where should I position my Singtel Mesh Router / WiFi Mesh / Wireless Boosters?
1. Avoid placing the device on the floor. Try placing them in a higher location.<p>2. Place your Singtel Mesh Router or the first WiFi Mesh/Wireless Booster in a central location.<br/>3. Reduce WiFi interference by avoiding walls, reflective surfaces and signal-transmitting devices such as microwave ovens and cordless phones.<br/>4. Keep all WiFi Mesh/Wireless Booster within line of sight of each other, if possible. For larger homes, additional WiFi Mesh/Wireless Boosters are recommended.<p/>
What does the light on my WiFi Mesh mean?
1. POWER light not ON - Check that the power adaptor is plugged in correctly and turned ON. <p>2. 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz light not ON - Check the LAN cable is connected properly. <br/>5Ghz light is red / blinking red - Move second WiFi Mesh/Wireless Booster closer to the first one.<p/>
I can't connect to WiFi. What should I do next?
1. Ensure that you are connecting to the correct WiFi network. You should use the WiFi name and password as indicated on the label of the Singtel Mesh Router/WiFi Mesh/Wireless Booster. <p>2. Check that all lights on the ONR and Singtel Mesh Router/WiFi Mesh/Wireless Booster are ON.<p/>
