As we are constantly surrounded by towering structures, it is easy to forget that our country has so much beauty to offer. All you need to do is gear up in your comfortable hiking shoes and scale some heights (or walk that extra mile!).

From nature parks to waterfronts, here is a list of places for you to capture the best views of our metropolitan city.

Chestnut Nature Park

Singapore’s largest nature park, Chestnut Nature Park is located in the outskirts of Bukit Panjang. It is also the first park to house a mountain biking trail but fret not, as it is kept separate from the hiking trails.

This nature park is also home to a secret (not anymore!) observation tower. Standing at 7-storeys high, it serves as a vantage point that guarantees sweet 360-degree views when you are atop the tower.

Be one with nature as you take in the sights of endless greenery, with a touch of modern civilization as condominiums and HDBs peek through the canopy!

How to get there: Alight at Pending LRT Station, and walk the tarmac track leading to Zhenghua Underpass
Opening hours: 7am - 7pm

Marina at Keppel Bay

As pink and orange hues set the backdrop for the waterfront, you will be able to catch the golden hour in all its glory while gazing over yacht-filled waters.

Marina at Keppel Bay offers one of the most stunning sunset views in Singapore. Whether you are admiring the views with friends or family, you will definitely leave the waterfront with some Instagram-worthy shots!

While waiting for the sunset, take a stroll along the Bukit Chermin boardwalk (only 300 metres-long) where you will be able to admire the views of Sentosa and do some “ship-watching” as they move in and out of from Marina at Keppel Bay.

How to get there: Take the free shuttle bus service from Harbourfront MRT Station (only available from Monday to Friday, during lunch hours)
Opening hours: 9am - 6pm

Mount Faber Peak

Get your head in the clouds as you make your way up to Singapore’s second tallest hill.

This hilltop destination not only offers spectacular views of Singapore’s urban landscape in the day, but you can also enjoy the twinkling city lights during the night. No doubt a favourite amongst locals and tourists!

If you are in the mood for hiking, embark on the Southern Ridges Walk! You will be greeted with a stunning combination of man-made and nature views, as you take the 5-kilometres hiking trail which connects Mount Faber Park to the Henderson Waves Bridge.

How to get there: Take a cable car from Harbourfront Cable Car Station to Mount Faber Cable Car Station
Opening hours: 8.45am - 9.30pm

Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve

Did you know? Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve is Singapore’s first ASEAN Heritage Park.

Located in the Northwest area of Singapore, this wetland reserve boasts a 202-hectare large area home to mangroves, mudflats, ponds and forests. It also serves a sanctuary for its native inhabitants and migratory birds.

Nature aside, Sungei Buloh is also home to some of the most picturesque views in the Northwest. Take the Coastal Boardwalk and reward yourself with an unobstructed view of Kranji Waterfront.

How to get there: Board SMRT Bus 925 from Kranji MRT Station and alight at Kranji Reservoir Carpark B (alight at the Wetland Centre on Sundays and Public Holidays)
Opening hours: 7am-7pm, last entry at 6.30pm

Remember to sync your hard-earned steps as you make your way to some of Singapore’s best lookout points!
