Southeast Asia – Japan 2 Cable System (SJC2) |
The SJC2 involves the construction of a high-performance submarine cable landing at 11 locations across nine (9) countries and regions: Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Taiwan, mainland China, Korea and Japan. The cable will feature initial design capacity of 144 terabits per second, roughly the equivalent of simultaneously streaming 5.76 million ultra-high definition videos per second. An assessment of the potential environmental impacts associated with the construction and installation of the SJC2-SG Cable in Singapore has been provided in this Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Report. The construction and installation of the SJC2-SG cable is similar to other telecommunication cable systems that have been installed in Singapore in recent years. The public feedback period has closed. Please contact Sean Lum seanlum@singtel.com to arrange for the viewing of the full EIA report [Monday to Friday (excluding Public Holiday)]. A summary of the EIA report is provided via the following link: [File: Summary of EIA Report] |
