Overcoming Internet latency and operational bottlenecks

A global provider of fresh and processed fruits has successfully adopted Singtel's Algo-Routing solution, transforming network connectivity at its remote site in Sierra Leone. The implementation addressed significant Internet performance challenges, achieving a dramatic reduction in latency from 400ms to a consistent 250ms. This improvement enabled reliable access to the company’s SAP system in Singapore, supporting real-time operational needs and boosting overall efficiency.

The remote site in Sierra Leone encountered critical challenges in accessing its centralised SAP system, essential for inventory management and operational processes. Frequent delays and high latency undermined data accuracy, increased reliance on manual tasks, and disrupted productivity.

Frequent delays and high latency undermined data accuracy, increased reliance on manual tasks, and disrupted productivity.

Singtel's Algo-Routing solution provided a robust answer to these challenges. Installed over the site’s existing Internet connection, this AI-driven technology optimised Internet performance by resolving middle-mile bottlenecks. The result was reliable, seamless connectivity to critical business systems – even in a remote geographical location.

Powering seamless, AI-optimised Internet connectivity

Algo-Routing utilises artificial intelligence to dynamically route SaaS traffic based on real-time network conditions. It addresses limitations inherent in public Internet infrastructure by providing consistent service levels for availability, latency, packet delivery and jitter.

A proof of concept (PoC) validated the solution’s potential, showcasing its ability to stabilise latency under demanding conditions. Following this success, the solution was fully implemented, significantly enhancing the site’s ability to meet operational requirements efficiently.

Real-time results, enhanced efficiency

The implementation of Singtel's Algo-Routing solution delivered measurable improvements, including:

Reduced latency, enabling consistent and efficient access to the SAP system hosted in Singapore.

Streamlined inventory management, with less dependence on manual processes, improving accuracy and reliability.

Enhanced operational efficiency, providing real-time, accurate insights into inventory levels across the entire global network.

This successful deployment demonstrates how cutting-edge technology can address complex connectivity issues in geographically dispersed locations.

Singtel’s Algo-Routing solution underscores the importance of innovative network infrastructure in supporting the success of global business operations, enabling companies to achieve new levels of efficiency and reliability.
